Kings are regarded as rulers. They rule their kingdom, sometimes with an 'iron fist'. But, their subjects don't like that type of ruling. Kings direct their subjects by creating laws for them to follow. But, do all the subjects adhere to these laws? Certainly not. So, what is the consequence for breaking these laws? Let's visit the animal kingdom to see if laws are made and adhered to. Most animals live in a jungle. This is a natural habitat for animals, especially if they are wildlife creatures (not pets).
Like humans, animals have a 'ruler'. It is said that the lion is the king of the jungle. But is he really? The question to asked is "Why is the lion called king of the jungle?"
A possible answer could be - Because it is at the top of the food chain. Few animals will dare to challenge a lion, even in periods of extreme hunger. But the Hyena's often get into conflicts with lions since their food sources are essentially the same and have been known to attack and kill lions. The phrase 'the lion is the king of the jungle' is a misnomer because lions don't live in the jungle, they live out on the savanah.
